Great for the ocean! Perfect for the Bay!

Get ready for Salmon! With the California Ocean Salmon Season expected to reopen after a 3-year closure, now is the time to invest in a trusted and seaworthy salmon fishing boat. This modified 1974 Dyer 29 Sportfisher is an ideal choice. This comfortable, stable craft features a long, open aft area ideal for fishing and crabbing. It can easily fish 3 to 5 anglers for ocean or bay trolling.

The hull was built by Dyer in Rhode Island, one of the most respected boat builders on the East Coast. It has a down-east lobster boat style, a displacement of 7,000 pounds, and a semi-displacement hull of reinforced fiberglass with legendary Dyer construction.

The boat has been modified for the colder, rougher Pacific Ocean with a hard top custom cabin. The original motor has been upgraded to a new, lightweight 315 HP Yanmar diesel with only 1800 hours on it. Trim tabs balance the ride and a fluid drive trolling valve lets you dial in an appropriate speed when on the fish.

This boat has been lovingly operated and carefully maintained by the owner of Western Sport Shop and used primarily in the San Francisco and San Pablo Bay, as well as for Pacific ocean salmon fishing and crabbing from Point Reyes to Pedro Point and out to the Farallones. Rigged with solid gear and equipment detailed below.

Recent Maintenance:
Engine timing belt replaced in early 2025 by Yanmar service as advised by the manufacturer.
